The Italian wine company, Schenk Italia Spa, part of the Swiss-based Schenk Group, posted turnover for 2002 of €39m (US$41.49m), up 11% from 2001.

The company attributed the sales increase principally to growth in sales to supermarkets. Around 66% of Schenk Italia’s 38m-bottle volumes come from sales to supermarkets. Exports account for 96% of the company’s turnover, with Germany representing 50% of export sales.
