INDIA: Bisleri confident of re-gaining licence
Ramesh Chauhan, chairman of Indian bottled water market leader, Parle Bisleri, has said he is optimistic that the company will regain the licence to produce water at its Delhi plant next week following a new technical audit of the plant. Following his meeting with the Consumer Affairs and Appellate Authority, Chauhan said he expected the issue to be resolved within the next seven days. The Bisleri licence was cancelled on May 16 by the Bureau of Indian Standards after a bottle was found not to bear appropriate quality control labeling.
