First teased in January, Cabal No.1513 is a blend of rums from Guatemala, Guyana, Trinidad, Panama and the Caribbean. The 43% abv iteration is then finished in former Pedro Ximénez casks at the company’s distillery in Scotland’s Speyside whisky region.

The first batch, which is limited to 2,000 units, will be available from 24 May on the company’s website with a second release to follow in the coming months.

Yesterday, One Eyed Spirits rebranded its Ron de Jeremy rum to Hell Or High Water, after charges were filed against the adult film actor that the brand is named after.

Aged rum in the UK will have undergone something of a reset last year, with volumes forecast to have fallen back following four years of consecutive growth. According to GlobalData, the segment’s volumes rose by a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 4.5% between 2015 and 2019 in the market.

Last year, however, volumes are expected to have shrunk 9% compared with 2019, to just under 1.3m nine-litre cases. However, aged rum is set to resume growth in the years to 2024, albeit at a diminished CAGR of 3.4%.
