Interbrew announced today that it has awarded two of its beer accounts to two different advertising agencies. Publicis Groupe SA’s Leo Burnett in Chicago will represent the Leffe beer account, while Bartle Bogle Hegarty, based in London, has been awarded the Hoegaarden brand. Interbrew has worked with both agencies in the past.

The Belgian-based global brewer is currently reassigning its global brand portfolio into a select roster of global advertising agencies, aiming to deliver world-class creative work on a consistent, global and cost-efficient basis.

Interbrew chose Leo Burnett and BBH to handle these accounts because, the company said in a press release: “They both have demonstrated an ability to generate consistently high-quality creative work which reflects a profound understanding of consumers and brand strategy and which communicates their message effectively.”

As long-term strategic partners with Interbrew, the agencies will be charged with challenging current marketing ideas, supporting the company’s businesses worldwide through cost-effective solutions and managing the development and implementation of new campaigns across their networks.
