The Belgian brewing giant Interbrew, which yesterday announced it was to acquire the German brewer Spaten, has indicated that it may be interested in further acquisitions in the country.


But though CEO John Brock said the company would consider opportunities htat fitted its strategic goals, one of those opportunities will not be Brau und Brunnen.


Brock said Brau und Brunnen would not fit with its business, despite the fact that the German bank HVB Group is looking to sell its 56% stake in Brau und Brunnen by the end of the year.
