French wine producer AdVini has sold its label and capsule production company Impressions de l’Enclos to local printing firm Alliance Etiquettes for an undisclosed sum.

Languedoc-based AdVini said the disposal fits in with its strategic plan, dubbed Orbis, which is to focus energies on its core business of wine production.

It created Impressions de l’Enclos back in 1980. In 2023, the labelling unit achieved a turnover of €4m ($4.3m), 50% of which was invoiced to third parties and 50% internally.

The terms of its sale to Bordeaux-based Alliance Etiquettes include a multi-year supply agreement with AdVini.

AdVini said all jobs at Impressions de l’Enclos will be retained post-deal.

Antoine Leccia, CEO of AdVini, said: “With Alliance Etiquettes, we have found a buyer who is an expert in the printing business and who shares our commitments and family values. The synergies at work within Alliance Etiquettes will allow Les Impressions de l’Enclos to take a new step in its development.”

Bordeaux-based Alliance Etriquettes can trace its roots back to the 1950s. The printing business has production sites in France and Italy and employs more than 500 people.

The company, which says it has more than 10,000 active customers, recorded turnover of €120m in 2022.

AdVini, founded in 1872, employs more than 950 people and has estates in the majority of France’s major wine producing areas. These include Burgundy’s Domaine Laroche, Vignobles Jeanjean in Languedoc and Bordeaux’s Antoine Moueix Propriétés.

The company is also active in the South African market, owning the L’Avenir and Le Bonheur winemakers. It also owns majority stakes in Ken Forrester Vineyards and Stellenbosch Vineyards.

The wine producer distributes to over 110 countries worldwide, with sales offices in France, the US, Canada, UK, Italy, Sweden and China, according to its website.
