The Champagne group Vranken Monopole announced yesterday that revenues in the first quarter had leapt 40% to €26.6m, compared to €18.9m for the same period a year ago.
The much improved results were a consequence of its acquisition of Pommery, which it bought last April.
Vranken said the progress it had made in the quarter left it confident of its full-year outlook. No details of those targets were divulged.
