Pernod Ricard has again raised the possibility of acquisitions in the US next year. In an interview with The LA Tribune, chief executive Patrick Ricard underlined the company’s intentions for 2004.

“We’re only ranked seventh in the American market,” he told the newspaper. “Unlike the clear worldwide leader Diageo, whose size limits its room for acquisitions, we have considerable potential for growth.”

“In particular, we’re short of a Tequila brand, but I’m interested in everything,” said Ricard. Pernod Ricard should see its existing US operations post organic growth of between 5% and 6% next year, he said.
