The French drinks and spirits group Marie Brizard et Roger International SA has reported a net profit for the first half of the year of €200,000 (US$232,900). The figure compares to a loss of €5.5m in the same period last year.


Operating profits for the period rose to €6.4m, from €1.4m last year, as turnover jumped 83% to €179.1m.


The group confirmed its intention to turn in a profit for the full year, after five years of losses.
