The CEO of the French-based food and drinks group, Danone, Franck Riboud, has said that the company is on track to reach its full-year sales and earnings forecasts.

The company has forecast like-for-like sales growth of 5% to 7% for the full year and single-digit EPS growth.

“The trends we’ve seen in July and August indicate that our 2003 targets will be met,” Riboud said.

However, he warned that although the European heatwave in early-August led to an increase in bottled water sales, this had been partly offset by lower sales in other product areas, notably in food sectors.
