Edrington has appointed a new distributor in the Caribbean.
Distribution Spirits Co (DISC) will handle Edrington’s brands including The Macallan and The Famous Grouse in all Caribbean markets except Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. DISC replaces Edrington’s previous distributor in the region, Webb Banks, a spokesperson confirmed to Just Drinks.
The agreement came into effect yesterday.
DISC operates under the umbrella of Promo International, a 26-year-old FMCG operator based in South Miami with service capabilities across the Caribbean region. The company covers domestic and Travel Retail channels with a focus on luxury and super-premium brands.
“This is an exciting development which will allow Edrington to focus its brand-building efforts and continue to expand the strategic growth of our luxury portfolio in a key region of the Americas,” said Edrington’s MD for Latin America, Oscar Miranda.
Earlier this week, Edrington posted a 15% sales decline from calender-2020. The Scottish spirits brand owner flagged the damaging effects on its performance of the pandemic coupled with US tariffs on single malt Scotch whisky.
