According to the report published this week the total consumption of energy
fell to 40.7kWh per hectolitre of beer brewed, from 45.8kWh between 1998/99
and 2000. Consumption of water per hectolitre of beer produced has fallen to
4.8hl/hl from 5.2hl/hl. And emission of Co2 has fallen to 11.4kg/hl from 12.8kg/hl.
DENMARK: Environmental report a first for Carlsberg
The first environmental report by Carlsberg Breweries claims that environmental initiatives over the past two years have helped reduce energy and water usage by its breweries.
