The Danish brewer Carlsberg today announced two appointments to its senior management.
Bjørn Søndenskov is to take over as managing director of Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia as of April 1, 2003. Meanwhile on the same day, Jørn Pedersen will take the reins at the Croatian brewer Panonska pivovara, in Koprivnica situated northeast of the capital Zagreb, as its new MD.
Søndenskov takes over from Jørgen Bornhøft, who was appointed chief executive officer of Carlsberg Asia Pte Limited in January this year. Jørgen Bornhøft is, however, continuing as chairman of Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia.
Søndenskov has been with Carlsberg Breweries A/S since 1988 and is currently a member of the management board of Carlsberg Breweries’ German subsidiary Hannen, responsible for finance, IT, and production. He has previously held senior positions within Carlsberg with responsibilities mainly for European markets.
Pedersen is presently business development director in Carlsberg Breweries A/S working with subsidiaries in Eastern Europe and new business activities such as supervising the integration of the two Bulgarian breweries Carlsberg Breweries acquired in 2002.
