Carlsberg brewery staff who went on strike over the company’s decision to restrict access to free beer have returned to work.

Around 250 workers at the firm’s Copenhagen brewery returned to their posts at the end of last week, a Carlsberg spokesperson told just-drinks today (13 April).

Staff had walked out two days earlier in protest at Carlsberg’s decision to implement an alcohol policy, which ouldl see the availability of free beer restricted to the brewery canteen in lunch hours.

Workers had previously had access to chilled bottles of beer in several locations around the brewery.

“The conflict will be handled through meetings between the union organisation 3F and the employers organisation Dansk Industri,” said the Carlsberg spokesperson earlier today.
