The shareholders of the Czech brewer, Prazske Pivovary, have approved the change of the brewer’s name to Pivovary Staropramen, with effect from October 13, 2003.

The brewer, which is majority-owned by the Belgian brewing combine, Interbrew, announced last month that it was considering changing its name. Staropramen is the company’s leading export brand, sold widely through the Interbrew network.
