The company’s chief financial officer, David Kaspar, said that the rise in profit was due to reduced operating costs and lower interest payments. Sales rose principally because of the rise in average beer prices during 2001, the company said.
CZECH REPUBLIC: Profit rises at Pivovar Nachod
The Czech brewing force, Pivovar Nachod, reported profit of CKR6.6m for 2001 against CKR4.7m in 2000. While output at the brewery, which is the largest beer producer in the Hradec Kralove region, fell by 3% to 143,800 hls, turnover grew by 3.5% to CKR141m.
