The value of Chilean wine exports increased by 2.8% in July compared to the same period in 2001, according to new figures from wine exporters’ association Chilevid. In the same month exports by volume increased by 16.2% compared to 2001, indicating that prices have dramatically failed to keep pace with the increase in shipments. The average per-litre value of Chilean wine fell from $1.92 in 2001 to $1.70 in 2002.
