Chilean wine producer Viña Tarapacá has created an Argentine subsidiary as part of its regional expansion programme.

Tarapacá is currently Chile’s eighth largest wine producer with export sales of $15.8m in 2002. But the company is growing quickly and exports in 2002 were 21.6% higher than in 2001.

Tarapacá’s expansion into Argentina comes as part of its bid to increase its share of total Chilean wine exports to 5% by 2005.
