Chilean Coca-Cola bottler Embotelladora Andina is to invest US$170m in the firm this year, according to reports.
The Latin American bottler is to spend $70m in the building of a new bottling and production plant, $50m in its Brazilian operations, $20m in Argentina and $30m in Chile, the company’s executive vice president Jamie Garcia told Reuters yesterday (13 April).
The plant is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2011, the firm said.
Earlier this year, the firm reported a 14.9% fall in profits for the fourth quarter, as exchange rate losses took their toll.
