BrewDog CEO James Taylor has left the UK business after its takeover by US brewer and cannabis company Tilray Brands.
Taylor (pictured) was promoted from CFO to chief executive in March last year following the departure of James Arrow, who had been in the post for less than 12 months.

Tilray bought parts of BrewDog’s UK and Ireland business in March this year and later completed agreements covering parts of the Scottish brewer’s operations in the US and Australia.
“James successfully led BrewDog through its ownership transition. We thank him for his contributions and wish him every success in the future,” a BrewDog spokesperson said today (1 July).
It is understood Tilray will not look to recruit to directly replace Taylor. BrewDog chief commercial officer Lauren Carrol oversees day-to-day operations and reports to Rajnish Ohri, the president of Tilray’s operations business.
Speaking to Just Drinks days after the BrewDog transactions, Tilray CEO Irwin Simon said the immediate focus was on stabilising the business. “There’s a lot that’s got to happen before we move forward,” he said.
Last month, Tilray introduced nine of its US beer brands in the UK through BrewDog’s bars.
Meanwhile, former BrewDog co-founder James Watt is returning to the beer sector with a new venture, Second Best. He plans to offer up to 19.3% of the business to former BrewDog investors.
