The latest bottling in Beam Suntory’s Little Book series of American whiskies has launched in its home market.

The fifth expression, The Invitation, follows last year’s Lessons Honored. The iteration is a blend of four whiskies – a two-, a five- and a 15-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon and a three-year-old malted 100% rye.

Like its predecessors, The Invitation is available in limited – albeit unspecified – numbers.

The series is put together by Freddie Noe, the eighth-generation Beam distiller. “Chapter 5 is my way of inviting whiskey drinkers into different aspects of the category,” said Noe. “‘The Invitation’ offers a chance for any curious drinker to expand their palette … due to the diverse liquids contained in the blend.”

Just over a month ago, Beam Suntory posted a 12% increase in sales from the six months to the end of June. The performance represented an 8% lift on the corresponding pre-pandemic period in 2019.
