The Australian wine group, Lion Nathan, has reported that its total grape harvest for Australia and New Zealand was down 7% on last year.

The company’s total harvest for the region reached 16,024 tonnes, against 17,259 tonnes last year. However, an increase in the New Zealand harvest partially compensated for a fall in Australia.

The New Zealand harvest rose from 1,259 tonnes to 1,524 tonnes, while Lion Nathan’s Australian crop fell from 16,000 tonnes to 14,500 tonnes.
