Rob Bowen has been appointed senior winemaker/regional manager of the Houghton Wine Company, Western Australia’s largest wine producer.
Bowen, 53, has more than 30 years in the industry both as a winemaker and consultant. He has worked for Plantagenet Wines, Capel Vale Wines and most recently, Willow Bridge Estate.
Bowen also has extensive overseas experience, having worked in the UK,
France and New Zealand.
As senior winemaker/regional manager, Bowen will be responsible for all of the company’s Western Australia viticultural activities and the overall operation of the Swan Valley and Nannup wineries.
“This is a great appointment for the Houghton Wine Company, and we look forward to Rob’s contribution to the continued Houghton excellence of winemaking,” Hardy Wine Company chief winemaker, Peter Dawson, said.
