Australian wine exports reached 528m litres for the year ended November 30, up 17% on the moving annual total logged by the Australian Wine and Brandy and Brandy Corporation.
Total value was A$2.42 billion (US$1.77 billion) but, despite the continuing boom, this also showed a 4.2% decline in dollar per litre returns for the period.
The US is further consolidated as Australia’s biggest market by value – A$869m (US$638.5m), up 30% – while the UK is the biggest market overall, 208 litres worth $A830m.
Bottled wine was far and away the strongest sector, 78% of all shipments, up 14% in the period.
