A decision on whether the Austrlian-based soft drink producer Coca-Cola Amatil will buy the country’s juice producer Berri will not occur until at least the end of September, Terry Davis managing director said.

Speaking after the announcement of the group’s first half results, Davis said: “We will not enter into a transaction where we do not have a high degree of comfort to deliver sufficient synergies.”

C-C Amatil is currently in talks to buy Berri for what could reach A$400m. However, talks have apparently stalled in recent days over fears Berri’s plants are too old.
