Coca-Cola Amatil should find out within the next two weeks if its proposed takeover of Berri Limited will be allowed to progress. ABC News reports today that the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission will hand down its decision on the acquisition within a fortnight.

In July Coca-Cola Amatil announced it had asked the competition watchdog to assess the takeover.

According to speculation, the move is worth A$300m (US$217m). An ACCC spokesperson told ABC News that it is an important merger and is being investigated thoroughly.
