The Australian soft drinks company, Coca-Cola Amatil has said its negotiations with the juice producer, Berri Ltd, are continuing. The company also said that it is in consultation with the Australian financial watchdog, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), for its view on its possible acquisition of the unlisted juice company.

“As part of its normal process, the ACCC has advised it wishes to conduct market inquiries to assist in its considerations and the parties have agreed to this,” Amatil said in a statement.

Amatil, which is 35%-owned by the soft drinks giant, Coca-Cola Company, is also attempting to conclude its takeover of the bottled water company, Neverfail Springwater, and has extended its deadline on that deal until July 7.
