Coca-Cola Amatil has appointed a former Foster’s Group executive as managing director of licensed/alcohol for its Australasia unit.
The Sydney-based soft drinks firm confirmed yesterday (28 April) that John Murphy will assume the position from 1 July. Murphy joins CCA having spent 27 years at Fosters, where he was MD of Fosters Australia until August 2006. Most recently, he was CEO of Visy Australasia until August last year.
“With the commissioning of our new Bluetongue Brewery over the next few weeks John’s enormous experience in the beer and alcohol industry will be invaluable assets to accelerate our organic growth plans for the business,” said CCA’s managing director, Terry Davis.
Meanwhile, CCA has appointed Vince Pinneri as managing director of its canned fruit and vegetable growing unit, SPC Ardmona. Pinneri has spent 27 years working in the Coca-Cola system, and was most recently general manager of immediate consumption and petroleum at CCA. He too will start at SPC Ardmona on 1 July, replacing acting MD Steve Perkins, who returns to his original position of chief financial officer.
Earlier this year, CCA reported a double-digit rise in profits for 2009 and said that it expects more growth in the first half of 2010.
