The Australian Wine & Brandy Corp has announced the resignation of its long-serving general manager for market development, Paul Henry.
After seven years in the role, Henry will leave on 10 December, the Australian Wine & Brandy Corporation (AWBC) said yesterday (13 October). His departure means that the Australian wine sector will lose one of its best-known advocates during a difficult period for the industry.
“Paul has decided to explore broader opportunities and personal development outside the organisation,” said the AWBC’s chief executive, Andrew Cheesman. He said that Henry will leave behind a “strong and capable” team.
The AWBC said it was searching for a marketing director to replace Henry, while those already in the team are set to take on extra responsibilities.
“We are embracing change which includes introducing new people, new ideas and a different approach into our business,” said Cheesman. He added that Henry will continue to advise AWBC on fine wine marketing activities.
