US absinthe distiller Absinthia’s Bottled Spirits has released a second expression.

Absinthia Verte is a green absinthe created using Californian grapes as well as star anise and fennel from Oregon. The release joins a Blanche variant in Absinthia’s Bottled Spirits’ portfolio.

Company founder Jennifer Absinthia Vermut said the new launch’s premium ingredients would help to set it apart from other absinthes.

“As an unregulated category, there are a lot of ‘crapsinthes’ on the market that use artificial ingredients and dyes to achieve the end product,” Vermut added. “Absinthia absinthes are carefully crafted according to a vintage Swiss recipe using all-natural ingredients and no sugar”.

In September, Constellation Brands took full control of absinthe-producing spirits company Copper & Kings American Brandy Co from its incubator division.
