The US’s consumer industry registered a 1.7% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.36% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.63% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.24% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.89% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s consumer industry in August 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 36.88% in August 2022, registering a 5.77% growth over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 25.48% share, an increase of 9.02% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 19.35%, registering a 6.88% rise from July 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 9.77%, down 9.73% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 98.01% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s consumer industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Petco Health and WellnessInc posted 82 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 105% over the previous month, followed by The J. R. Simplot with 71 jobs and a flat growth. Carrier Global with 65 IT jobs and PepsiCo with 48 jobs, recorded a 62.5% growth and an 11.11% decrease, respectively, while Columbia Sportswear recorded an increase of 94.12% with 33 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59%, up by 4.23% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 25.77% share, registered an increase of 5.91% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.93% share, up 3.85% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.3%, recording a month-on-month increase of 50%.
