August 2022 has seen an increase of 2.65% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 2.29% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering a decrease of 0.43% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 31.88% in August 2022, a 15.79% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 28.99% in August 2022, marking a 16.67% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 20.29% in August 2022, a 17.65% drop from July 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 15.63% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s consumer industry during August 2022 over previous month.
BRF posted 12 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered an increase of 33.33% over the previous month, followed by Anheuser-Busch InBev with 8 jobs and a 20% drop. The Procter & Gamble with 6 IT jobs and PepsiCo with 6 jobs, recorded a 25% drop and a 100% rise, respectively, while Kimberly-Clark recorded a 150% increase with 5 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s consumer industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 50.72% share in August 2022, a 16.67% increase over July 2022. Argentina featured next with a 13.04% share, up 28.57% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded a 10.14% share, a drop of 22.22% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.36%, down by 22.39% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.04% share, registered a growth of 80% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.59% share, down 60% over July 2022.
