South & Central America witnessed a 5.3% drop in IT hiring activity in the consumer industry in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
July 2022 has seen an increase of 1.72% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 2.57% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.13% over the last three-month average share.
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 26.44% in July 2022, a 4.17% drop over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 21.84% in July 2022, marking a 13.64% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 19.54% in July 2022, a 41.67% rise from June 2022.
Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 17.24% in July 2022, a 200% rise over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 51.61% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s consumer industry during July 2022 over previous month.
GraceKennedy posted 12 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Anheuser-Busch InBev with 10 jobs and an 11.11% growth. BRF with 9 IT jobs and JBS with 8 jobs, recorded a 28.57% rise and a 166.67% rise, respectively, while Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public recorded a flat growth with 8 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s consumer industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 34.48% share in July 2022, a 25% increase over June 2022. Colombia featured next with a 20.69% share, up 200% over the previous month. Jamaica recorded a 14.94% share, a growth of 8.33% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.56%, down by 3.03% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 20.69% share, registered a growth of 200% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 5.75% share, down 37.5% over June 2022.
