October 2022 has seen a decrease of 16.37% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 1.93% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 0.2% over the last three-month average share.
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 26.92% in October 2022, a 17.65% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 25% in October 2022, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 25% in October 2022, a 44.44% rise from September 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 17.31% in October 2022, a 30.77% decline over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 47.37% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s consumer industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Procter & Gamble posted 8 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 100% over the previous month, followed by Unilever with 7 jobs and a 16.67% growth. Kimberly-Clark with 5 IT jobs and PepsiCo with 4 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while JBS recorded a flat growth with 4 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s consumer industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 40.38% share in October 2022, a 4.55% decrease over September 2022. Costa Rica featured next with a 25% share, up 160% over the previous month. Argentina recorded a 15.38% share, a growth of 60% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.92%, down by 6.98% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 13.46% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 9.62% share, flat growth over September 2022.
