May 2022 has seen an increase of 2.01% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 1.73% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2022, registering an increase of 0.29% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 52.6% in May 2022, a 9.46% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 19.48% in May 2022, marking a 42.86% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 14.94% in May 2022, a 35.29% rise from April 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 7.79% in May 2022, a 25% decline over the previous month.
Top five drinks companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 21.05% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s drinks industry during May 2022 over previous month.
PepsiCo posted 47 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered an increase of 51.61% over the previous month, followed by Coca-Cola Consolidated with 25 jobs and a 25% growth. Carlsberg with 15 IT jobs and Fomento Economico Mexicano SAB de CV with 14 jobs, recorded an 114.29% rise and a 12.5% drop, respectively, while Anheuser-Busch InBev recorded a 33.33% decline with 14 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s drinks industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s drinks industry IT hiring activity with an 80.52% share in May 2022, a 16.98% increase over April 2022. Mexico featured next with an 18.83% share, down 9.38% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 0.65% share, a flat growth compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.88%, up by 1.98% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 16.88% share, registered a growth of 23.81% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 13.64% share, up 31.25% over April 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.6%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
