North America witnessed a 16.4% drop in IT hiring activity in the drinks industry in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

September 2022 has seen a decrease of 5.86% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 2.44% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering a decrease of 0.3% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 46.11% in September 2022, an 18.09% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 19.16% in September 2022, marking a 56.76% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 14.37% in September 2022, a 27.27% drop from August 2022.

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 11.98% in September 2022, a 13.04% decline over the previous month.

Top five drinks companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 40.91% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s drinks industry during September 2022 over previous month.

Nestle posted 29 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a decline of 40.82% over the previous month, followed by Coca-Cola Consolidated with 21 jobs and a 19.23% drop. PepsiCo with 21 IT jobs and Anheuser-Busch InBev with 17 jobs, recorded a 62.5% drop and a 22.73% drop, respectively, while Fomento Economico Mexicano SAB de CV recorded a 30.43% decline with 16 job postings during September 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s drinks industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s drinks industry IT hiring activity with a 74.85% share in September 2022, a 28.98% decrease over August 2022. Mexico featured next with a 20.96% share, down 38.6% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 4.19% share, a growth of 133.33% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.48%, down by 35.26% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20.96% share, registered a decline of 20.45% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 17.37% share, down 17.14% over August 2022.
