November 2022 has seen an increase of 9.67% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 1.54% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering a decrease of 0.47% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 34.51% in November 2022, a 40.36% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 23.36% in November 2022, marking a 42.95% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 21.65% in November 2022, a 23.61% drop from October 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 16.31% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s consumer industry during November 2022 over previous month.
J. R. Simplot posted 62 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a decline of 16.22% over the previous month, followed by Nestle with 53 jobs and a 381.82% growth. Carrier Global with 46 IT jobs and Petco Health and WellnessInc with 43 jobs, recorded a 19.3% drop and a 10.42% drop, respectively, while PepsiCo recorded a 65.22% decline with 32 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s consumer industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with an 89.76% share in November 2022, a 36.67% decrease over October 2022. Mexico featured next with a 6.43% share, down 36.36% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 3.81% share, a drop of 56.72% compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.14%, down by 40.93% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.26% share, registered a decline of 23.58% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.5% share, down 40.76% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.1%, recording a month-on-month decline of 33.33%.
