September 2022 has seen a decrease of 2.11% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.1% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering an increase of 0.15% over the last three-month average share.

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations Occupations leads by classification in September 2022

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 45.83% in September 2022, a 266.67% rise over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 16.67% in September 2022, marking a 20% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 16.67% in September 2022, a 33.33% drop from August 2022.

Database and Network Administrators and Architects registered a share of 16.67% in September 2022, a 20% decline over the previous month.

Top five consumer companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 160% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s consumer industry during September 2022 over previous month.

The Bidvest Group posted 4 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered an increase of 300% over the previous month, followed by The Coca-Cola with 3 jobs and a flat growth. Unilever with 2 IT jobs and Reckitt Benckiser Group with 2 jobs, recorded a 50% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while Scandinavian Tobacco Group recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during September 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s consumer industry

South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 45.83% share in September 2022, a 37.5% increase over August 2022. Israel featured next with a 12.5% share, down 25% over the previous month. Eswatini recorded a 12.5% share, a flat growth compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.83%, up by 13.33% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20.83% share, registered a growth of 66.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.33% share, up 100% over August 2022.
