October 2022 has seen an increase of 4.8% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 2.76% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 0.29% over the last three-month average share.

Computer and Information Analysts Occupations leads by classification in October 2022

Computer and Information Analysts Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 52.38% in October 2022, a 175% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 14.29% in October 2022, marking a 72.73% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 14.29% in October 2022, a 25% drop from September 2022.

Database and Network Administrators and Architects registered a share of 14.29% in October 2022, a 25% decline over the previous month.

Top five consumer companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 1000% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s consumer industry during October 2022 over previous month.

PepsiCo posted 5 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 2 jobs and a flat growth. Body Shop International with 2 IT jobs and McCain Foods with 1 jobs, recorded a 100% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Distell Group Holdings recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during October 2022.

South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 23.81% share in October 2022, a 54.55% decrease over September 2022. Egypt featured next with a 19.05% share, up 300% over the previous month. Sudan recorded a 14.29% share, a flat growth compared with September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 90.48%, up by 11.76% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 4.76% share, registered a decline of 80% compared with the previous month.
