Mexico’s consumer industry IT recruitment activity drops 17.4% in September 2022

Mexico’s consumer industry registered a 17.4% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.89% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.76% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 0.84% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Mexico’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s consumer industry in September 2022.

1) Computer and Information Analysts recorded a share of 44.07% in September 2022, registering a 10.34% decline over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 30.51% share, a decrease of 10% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 13.56%, registering a 33.33% decline from August 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 6.78%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five consumer companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 12.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s consumer industry during September 2022 over August 2022.

Fomento Economico Mexicano SAB de CV posted 15 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a drop of 31.82% over the previous month, followed by Diageo with 10 jobs and a 66.67% growth. The Coca-Cola with 9 IT jobs and Anheuser-Busch InBev with 7 jobs, recorded an 800% growth and a 36.36% decrease, respectively, while Whirlpool recorded a flat growth with 4 job postings during September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.88%, down by 25.86% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.64% share, registered an increase of 37.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.47% share, down 50% over August 2022.
