Mexico’s consumer industry IT recruitment activity drops 11.7% in July 2022

Mexico’s consumer industry registered an 11.7% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.36% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.44% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 0.38% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Mexico’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s consumer industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 34.92% in July 2022, registering an 18.52% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 25.4% share, a decrease of 33.33% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 19.05%, registering a 20% decline from June 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 14.29%, up 200% over the previous month.

Top five consumer companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 2.17% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s consumer industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Fomento Economico Mexicano SAB de CV posted 20 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 4.76% over the previous month, followed by Anheuser-Busch InBev with 13 jobs and a 333.33% growth. PepsiCo with 6 IT jobs and Diageo with 4 jobs, recorded a 50% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Panasonic recorded a decline of 71.43% with 4 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 82.54%, down by 16.13% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with an 11.11% share, registered a decline of 30% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 4.76% share, down 25% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.59%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
