India’s consumer industry registered a 6.4% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 8.25% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.34% share in August 2022, recording an increase of 0.01% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry in August 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 51% in August 2022, registering a 64.52% growth over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 17.33% share, a decrease of 24.64% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 16.33%, registering an 18.33% decline from July 2022.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 13.33%, down 2.44% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 40.31% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Charoen Pokphand Foods Public posted 50 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 25% over the previous month, followed by L’Oreal with 49 jobs and a flat growth. Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 30 IT jobs and Panasonic with 29 jobs, recorded a 43.4% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Unilever recorded an increase of 228.57% with 23 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70%, up by 16.67% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.67% share, registered a decline of 1.45% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.33% share, up 5.56% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1%, recording a month-on-month increase of 200%.
