India’s consumer industry registered a 3.0% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 0.02% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.04% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 1.29% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.26% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry in July 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 34.93% in July 2022, registering a 20.83% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 25.74% share, a decrease of 4.11% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 22.43%, registering a 3.39% rise from June 2022.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 15.07%, down 4.65% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 12.71% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. posted 53 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 20.9% over the previous month, followed by Charoen Pokphand Foods Public with 40 jobs and a 17.65% growth. Panasonic with 29 IT jobs and PepsiCo with 21 jobs, recorded a 27.5% decline and a 30% decrease, respectively, while Zebra recorded an increase of 50% with 15 job postings during July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.91%, down by 6.67% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.1% share, registered a decline of 13.41% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.62% share, up 50% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.37%, recording a month-on-month decline of 88.89%.
