India’s consumer industry registered a 15.2% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 13.49% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.88% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 2.26% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry in November 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 40.94% in November 2022, registering a 44.09% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 23.62% share, a decrease of 42.31% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 17.32%, registering a 56% decline from October 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 15.75%, down 45.95% over the previous month.

Top five consumer companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 64.29% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

PepsiCo posted 51 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a rise of 82.14% over the previous month, followed by General Mills with 14 jobs and a 250% growth. Unilever with 11 IT jobs and Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 8 jobs, recorded a 10% growth and a 38.46% decrease, respectively, while Nestle recorded an increase of 700% with 8 job postings during November 2022.

Mid Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Mid Level jobs held a share of 52.76%, up by 1.52% from October 2022. Junior Level positions with a 42.52% share, registered a decline of 66.87% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 3.94% share, down 50% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.79%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
