Germany’s consumer industry IT recruitment activity drops 8.3% in August 2022

Germany’s consumer industry registered an 8.3% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 8.38% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.5% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.42% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s consumer industry in August 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 50% in August 2022, registering a 35.06% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 21% share, an increase of 250% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 18%, registering a 50% rise from July 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 7%, down 12.5% over the previous month.

Top five consumer companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 12% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s consumer industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

HelloFresh posted 18 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 59.09% over the previous month, followed by FreudenbergKG with 16 jobs and a flat growth. Nestle with 8 IT jobs and maxingvest with 7 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a 250% growth, respectively, while Daring Foods recorded a flat growth with 7 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 74%, down by 10.84% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20% share, registered an increase of 5.26% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6% share, up 20% over July 2022.
