Germany’s consumer industry registered an 18.5% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 15.11% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.2% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.45% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s consumer industry in October 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 44.78% in October 2022, registering a 44.44% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 23.88% share, a decrease of 15.79% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 19.4%, registering a 7.14% decline from September 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 10.45%, down 82.05% over the previous month.

Top five consumer companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 22.22% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s consumer industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

HelloFresh posted 11 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 83.33% over the previous month, followed by Ferrero Group with 8 jobs and a flat growth. Essity with 6 IT jobs and maxingvest with 6 jobs, recorded a 200% growth and a 25% decrease, respectively, while Nestle recorded a decline of 80.95% with 4 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.7%, down by 56.04% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 20.9% share, registered a decline of 6.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 19.4% share, down 38.1% over September 2022.
