September 2022 has seen an increase of 3.62% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.8% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering a decrease of 0.29% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 30.99% in September 2022, a 15.16% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 25.6% in September 2022, marking a 0.59% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 19.91% in September 2022, a 25.47% rise from August 2022.

Top five consumer companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 43.38% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s consumer industry during September 2022 over previous month.

Fujitsu General posted 57 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered an increase of 29.55% over the previous month, followed by Nestle with 46 jobs and a 27.78% growth. Hugo Boss with 35 IT jobs and The Body Shop International with 33 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 23.26% drop, respectively, while Unibel recorded an 84.62% increase with 24 job postings during September 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s consumer industry

The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 23.5% share in September 2022, a 13.74% decrease over August 2022. Germany featured next with an 18.56% share, up 13.76% over the previous month. France recorded a 14.22% share, a growth of 75.93% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.81%, up by 1.5% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 16.32% share, registered a growth of 15.96% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 12.57% share, down 13.4% over August 2022.
