Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 37.82% in August 2022, a 23.87% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 25.48% in August 2022, marking a 6% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 16.19% in August 2022, a 0.98% drop from July 2022.

Top five consumer companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 16.24% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s consumer industry during August 2022 over previous month.

Fujitsu General posted 41 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a decline of 47.44% over the previous month, followed by The Body Shop International with 38 jobs and a 9.52% drop. Nestle with 35 IT jobs and Philip Morris International with 31 jobs, recorded a 7.89% drop and a 138.46% rise, respectively, while Reckitt Benckiser Group recorded a 23.08% decline with 20 job postings during August 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s consumer industry

The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 27.24% share in August 2022, a 16.67% decrease over July 2022. Germany featured next with a 16.03% share, down 6.54% over the previous month. France recorded a 7.69% share, a flat growth compared with July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.67%, down by 14.37% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 14.9% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 14.42% share, down 1.1% over July 2022.
