October 2022 has seen a decrease of 6.84% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.63% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 0.33% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 29.59% in October 2022, a 26.85% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 28.65% in October 2022, marking a 15% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 21.54% in October 2022, an 18.44% drop from September 2022.

Top five consumer companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 40.91% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s consumer industry during October 2022 over previous month.

Unibel posted 30 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 25% over the previous month, followed by Body Shop International with 29 jobs and a 12.12% drop. Haleon with 24 IT jobs and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton with 23 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 15% rise, respectively, while Cherkizovo Group recorded a 63.64% increase with 18 job postings during October 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s consumer industry

France commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 21.35% share in October 2022, a 7.55% increase over September 2022. The UK featured next with an 18.91% share, down 36.08% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 12.55% share, a drop of 47.24% compared with September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.23%, down by 28.34% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with an 18.54% share, registered a decline of 9.17% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 13.3% share, down 19.32% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.94%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
