Europe witnessed a 1.7% drop in IT hiring activity in the consumer industry in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
July 2022 has seen a decrease of 2.95% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.35% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering an increase of 0.07% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 44.66% in July 2022, an 11.73% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 21.36% in July 2022, marking a 14.29% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 16.47% in July 2022, a 4.31% drop from June 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 13.95% in July 2022, a 14.55% decline over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 29.65% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s consumer industry during July 2022 over previous month.
Fujitsu General posted 78 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 4% over the previous month, followed by HelloFresh with 50 jobs and a 284.62% growth. The Body Shop International with 42 IT jobs and Cherkizovo Group with 27 jobs, recorded a 44.83% rise and a 10% drop, respectively, while Lego recorded a 4% increase with 26 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s consumer industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 30.27% share in July 2022, a 4.23% decrease over June 2022. Germany featured next with a 16.32% share, up 17.02% over the previous month. France recorded a 7.12% share, a drop of 34.25% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.48%, down by 14.19% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 13.2% share, registered a decline of 8.25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 12.31% share, up 2.47% over June 2022.
